RESIDENTIAL WORKER/ SHIFT SUPERVISOR

The Residential Worker / Shift Supervisor shall be responsible for assisting in all areas necessary for the development, well-being and security of the clients. The Residential Worker/ Shift Supervisor will interact with all Program Directors. The Residential Worker / Shift Supervisor will handle emergencies & typical situations in the absence of management.

Duties and Responsibilities: Residential Worker

· Work with professional staff to assist in daily activities of clients.

· Make daily entries in shelter and client logbooks. Inform Senior Staff or Case Manager of any incidents.

· Enforce program and agency policies.

· Dispensing prescribed medication to clients and monitoring side effects

· Respond to emergencies while on duty and report to Senior Staff on duty

· Report to next shift what occurred on your shift

· Assist with the coordination of client services.

· Maintain a safe/secure environment with unscheduled rounds (fire alarm and security system

· Ability to work some nights, weekends, and holidays.

· Ability to work with various age groups and clients with various needs.

· Be willing to venture and extend self to assist others.

· Willingness to transport clients to appointments and/or activities

· Demonstrate sensitivity to the issues and concerns of the populations served by the agency

· Be flexible for a wide range of tasks from the routine and predictable to the unique and unexpected.

· Regular attendance and punctuality expected

Duties and Responsibilities: Shift Supervisor

· All the responsibilities of a Residential Worker

· Contact on call administrative staff as needed for emergencies and provides on issues involving both staff and clients.

· Contact police emergency personnel as directed by on-call administrative staff, and /or based on commons sense circumstances.

· Work with Residential Workers to ensure proper client supervision and completion of tasks.

· Act as a point of contact with other agencies, new clients, or unexpected people/groups who may call or drop in on off hours, and coordinate action with on call administrative staff, or the following day if not urgent.

The Shift Supervisor is still a Residential Worker, and still responsible for coverage during his/her shifts. The Shift Supervisor in not in charge of other staff, but is to act in a supportive role, and must advise the on call administrative staff for that program of any problems.

THESE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE AS DEEMED APPROPRIATE AND NECESSARY BY PROGRAM DIRECTORS AND SENIOR STAFF MEMBERS

QUALIFICATIONS

· Social Services experience.

· Valid New Jersey driver’s license.

· High School Diploma experience

· Bachelor’s degree a plus

 

Job Type: Full Time
Schedule: Sunday-Thursday 3pm-11pm
Salary: $17.00-$18.00 an hour
