Job Title: Re-Entry Specialist

Location: East Orange, NJ

The Re-Entry Specialist shall be responsible for assisting in all areas necessary to the well-being and security of clients for the re-entry program. The Re-Entry specialist shall report directly to the Re-Entry Specialist Coordinator.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in monitoring and tracking progress of individuals in the program according to approved treatment plan.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of all program activities, referrals and /or services by documenting them on the NJLEAD Participant Form and Contact List.
  • Review daily entries and client logbooks.
  • Uphold the confidentiality and privacy rights of clients.
  • Work closely with the Reentry Specialist Coordinator in providing a range of support services to assist in reintegration.
  • Maintain a safe/secure environment with unscheduled rounds (room checks).
  • Look up essential resources such as housing, employment opportunities, healthcare services, and educational programs to provide to Supervisor.
  • Complete NJLEAD individual contact sheets and submit them to Re-Entry Specialist Coordinator by the end of each day.
  • Attend NJ Lead Events and Resource Fairs.
  • Act with integrity and adhere to ethical standards in all client interactions and service delivery.
  • Adhere to agency rules and policies.
  • Willingness to venture and extend self to assist others.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to the issues and concerns of the populations served by the agency.
  • Be flexible for a wide range of tasks from the routine and predictable to the unique and unexpected.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality expected.

THESE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE AS DEEMED APPROPRIATE AND NECESSARY BY PROGRAM DIRECTORS AND SENIOR STAFF MEMBERS

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in criminal justice or social work preferred.
  •  Minimum of 2 years of experience in reentry services or related field without degree.
  • Detail oriented with great organizational and time management skills.
  • Computer and communication skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel & Outlook)
  • Valid New Jersey driver’s license

Job Type: Part-time

Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8am to 1pm or 1pm to 6pm.

Salary: $16.00 an hour.
